Campus
Radiumhospitalet

Campus Radiumhospitalet in Oslo, Norway, is one of Europe’s leading cancer research and treatment centres.
Villa Ekebakken

Villa Ekebakken is a large neo-baroque villa from 1921, situated at Montebello, 500 metres from the Radium Hospital. The Radium Hospital Trusts own the villa and have carried out a full restoration, transforming it into an oasis for families affected by cancer, cancer researchers and all those working in cancer care.
The side wing houses five apartments that families affected by cancer can use free of charge. The main building is home to a course and conference centre, a large commercial kitchen, activity rooms, a library, a museum and meeting rooms. Villa Ekebakken is set to become a medical and cultural powerhouse that complements Campus Radiumhospitalet.
The Radium Hospital Trusts is a foundation built up through testamentary gifts and donations in support of the cancer work at Campus Radiumhospitalet. The Trusts support cancer research, equipment and initiatives for patients and their families. They also provide free medical and psychological counselling.
Prof. Jan Vincents Johannessen established the foundation in 2004. He served as director of the Radium Hospital for 23 years and was the driving force behind the vision "The Radium Hospital – more than a hospital". The Villa Ekebakken project is inspired by his philosophy: Cancer does not just affect an organ or a person – it affects an entire family.
